HISTORY
Andres Drive-In is a story of the American Dream.
What began as a vision has grown into a community landmark, built on hard work, family values, and a passion for great food. From the very beginning, we’ve stayed true to our roots-keeping the same original recipes that has carried Andres Drive-In throughout the years.
Cyrille Andre came to Bakersfield in 1910 with his wife, part of the early colony of French settlers. In 1955, Andres family eventually opened Andre’s Drive-in on Niles Street after getting advice from another start-up family, Mac and Dick McDonald, who opened the first McDonalds in the United States.
